Rudraksha is a large evergreen broad leaves tree. It is famous for the Rudraksha beads that grow on it. It is a fast-growing tree that can start to bear fruits after 3-4 years of planting.
The plant holds tremendous importance in the Hindu religion. The word “Rudraksha” has its origin in the Sanskrit language. It is made from two words, Rudra (Lord Shiva) and aksha (eye). This means that the auspicious beads are considered the third eye of Lord Shiva. It is an essential bead that people use during prayers.
It is said that Lord Shiva wears a garland of Rudraksha. This garland or mala is often made from 108 rudraksha beads and used by many Hindus during prayers. Moreover, the rudraksha trees found in the Himalayan regions are considered quite powerful. As the Himalaya or Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva according to the scriptures.

Rudraksha Plant’s Care Instructions:
Soil: Using a well-draining soil, rich in compost, is ideal for growing rudraksha plants. You can also use a nutrient-rich, compost-based soil, as these are easily available. It is advisable to use this soil when you are growing your plant in pots. Before putting the soil in the container, make sure you add a good amount of drainage material like gravel, pebbles, etc, at the base of the pot.
Water: Water the plants well. If you are planting Rudraksha in open yards, you can create a little slope to stop the water-logging in the area. Water at least two times in a day in summers and once in others. You do not need to water your rudraksha plant in the rainy season and once they’re established.
Fertilizer: You should avoid using chemical fertilizers. Using rotted cow manure is best for your plant. Provide your plant regularly with a good amount of Gobar Ki Khaad, more frequently, when the plant is flowering and fruiting. Besides, you can also use a potash rich fertilizer for your plant.
