 Gardenia is a species of flowering plants in the family of Rubiaceae. It is Primarily found Outdoor plant in the south and grown for their fragrant flowers and handsome foliage. These are evergreen shrubs that grows to aheight of 2-12 feet tall. Flowers have sweet scented aroma that blooms in mid-spring to  mid-summer season and available in small clusters of white, yellow, red, cream colors. It is actually a member of coffee family and can be grown easily in pots or through landscape method. The plants require less care and they are cost effective. You can grow them in your home as it can purify the surrounding atmosphere by eliminating the harmful taxins from that particular area.

Gardenia Plant’s Care Instructions:

Soil: Use very loose and organic soil to grow Gardenia plant in your home, offices and Balconies. Soil should be moist.

Water:  Do not over water Garedenia plant but kept the soil moist. Whenever you are watering the plant first check the moisture level of the plant by using your fingers. 

Fertilizer: Fertilize the Gardenia plant monthly between April and November using fertilizer that is specifically formulated for acid-loving plants. Be careful not to over fertilize gardenia plants. Too much fertilizer can lead to salt accumulation, which can damage the shrub. Do not fertilize gardenias in the fall, which can stimulate growth. This tender, new growth will quickly die when exposed to cold winter temperatures.
